I know, I love that analogy too! I've been lucky enough recently to run into a handful of anthologies (Clockwork Phoenix included!) where the order the stories are in makes a certain kind of sense. Sometimes I read an anthology in the order presented, and sometimes not, but when I do, and when there's a noticeable progression, that makes for an even more enjoyable experience.

I'm with you Hooray for nice cover art as well!! :)

Thanks for the interview! I like the analogy of an anthology editor being equated to a Thayer director, that makes a lot of sense. I've read a lot anthologies where the stories do fit the theme but not the tone. I also love how Clockwork Phoenix collections continually push my reading skills, my limits and understanding of what can be done with fiction.

Hooray for the nice cover image for the novel. I can't wait to buy one to add to my Mike Allen collection!

I have Side Jobs, though I've also bought a couple of the anthologies that the Dresden short stories appeared in. I love the one from John Marcone's POV (think it's called 'Even Hand'?). I like getting a closer look at secondary characters, and Marcone is one of my favourites. :D

I'm also a Dresden fan and it would be hard for me to pick a favorite book of the series too. the TV series was cool in it's own way, but I find the books much more interesting. I assume you have also read the collections of short stories?
